Hohhot promotes rail network, with more bullet trains to be added
More bullet trains linking various cities in China with Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, are to come into service on Jan 20, 2021, according to China Railway Hohhot Group Co.
Bullet trains linking Hohhot with Zhengzhou in Henan province and Jinan in Shandong province will be added, marking the first batch of bullet trains in central and western Inner Mongolia that run on routes taking more than six hours.
In addition, more bullet trains are to run on the high-speed railway linking Beijing and Inner Mongolia.
The bullet trains will make 28 round trips on a daily basis on the high-speed railway, which went into service on Dec 30, 2019.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as during peak travel periods, this number will reach 31.
