Hohhot students enjoy colorful puppet show
A rod puppet show is held at Tongshunjie Primary School in Yuquan district, Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 31. In rod puppetry, a well-respected traditional art form, the puppets are moved using wooden sticks inserted into a cavity inside the puppet, while their eyes and mouths can be moved with a stick or bamboo rod connected to the neck. The performer holds two sticks in one hand. [Photo/people.com.cn]
