Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, opened additional bullet trains bound for Beijing and Xi'an in Shaanxi province on Oct 11, according to local media reports.

There are 36 pairs of electric multiple unit (EMU) trains operating between Hohhot and Beijing, while six are operating between Baotou and Beijing.

In addition, a pair of EMU trains from Hohhot East to Xi'an has begun operating, shortening the travel time by 4 hours and 26 minutes and providing more travel choices for passengers.
