This year, Hohhot city – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – will accelerate the steady recovery of the life service industry, according to local media reports.

The city will build a regional modern consumption center and develop new formats such as the outdoor economy and the ice and snow economy.

Under the city's plan, more well-known brands will be introduced to establish the first stores and flagship stores in Hohhot, while the core competitiveness of the city's business districts will be further enhanced.

It will promote the transformation of traditional business districts such as Zhongshan Road and improve and upgrade special retail projects such as Saishang Old Street and trendy, below-ground shopping and entertainment precincts at metro stations.

Hohhot is striving to boost its tourism sector and develop into a regional leisure and holiday center. As such, it has launched a three-year action plan for its six major industries – dairy production, biomedicines, solar power, the digital economy, modern logistics and cultural tourism.

It is striving to create a cultural tourism landscape – centered around the Chilechuan Grassland in the north and the Laoniuwan Yellow River Grand Canyon in the south – and is promoting the integration of the cultural and tourism industries.

The city has also built more cultural industry facilities, such as the Huayi Brothers Chilechuan Star Theater and the Matouqin Grassland Cultural Industrial Park.

In addition, Hohhot will also promote the development of health care, ecological recreation, sports and health care, food therapy and medicine – as well as speed up the development of medical care and health care integration projects, including the Taikang Medical Care and Senior Apartment Service Center.
