Hohhot is experiencing a surge in computing power development. Since last year, the city has rapidly advanced its construction of data center clusters, creating a new framework based on data centers, supported by green computing power and aimed at artificial intelligence.

Currently, Hohhot has a server capacity of over 1.5 million units and a total computing power of 24,000 P, with intelligent computing power reaching 21,800 P.

This places Hohhot 15th among the top 20 cities in China's computing power index. Moreover, the city has launched an international internet data channel, become a hub node in the national integrated computing network and it was also approved as a national internet backbone direct connection point.

Additionally, Hohhot has been named as one of the first gigabit cities in the country.

Moving forwards, Hohhot will focus on the full industry chain development of computing power and AI – strengthening investment attraction, project construction and innovation.

It aims to expand its upstream sectors, optimize its midstream ones and enhance its downstream sectors, achieving cluster-based, green and intelligent industry development.

Key initiatives include developing a computing ecosystem with a research park, institutes and labs, as well as attracting advanced design and construction enterprises.

All in all, Hohhot plans to increase its computing power scale, leveraging its strengths in green, intelligent, and financial computing. By 2025, the city aims to have signed up at least 15 new computing projects.
