The 2024 China Green Computing Power (AI) Conference opened on June 29 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

The event, themed on "Building a Green Computing Network for a Shared AI Future," brought experts and industry leaders together to discuss the future of green computing and AI.

Inner Mongolia's cool climate, clean air and extensive wind and solar power installations are widely said to make it an ideal hub for green computing. The region is a comprehensive experimental zone for big data infrastructure and a national node for integrated computing power networks.

Green computing and AI are seen as being critical to high-quality development – driving changes in quality, efficiency and power across various fields.

As a key computing hub, Inner Mongolia is leveraging its resources to boost its green computing supplies, accelerate AI innovation and integrate into the broader computing industry.

The conference featured the inauguration of China Cloud Valley and key projects within the East Data, West Computing initiative. Reports on green computing developments and new products were also released, alongside the signing of 13 key projects.

The event aimed to unify consensus, gather know-how and pool efforts to build a robust ecosystem for green computing and AI.

Moreover, the collaborative effort sought to advance China's goals of becoming a network power, manufacturing power and a digital power.
