Hohhot accelerates modern industrial transformation
Hohhot is advancing its status as a modern regional center by building robust industrial clusters.
The city's major milestones this year include hosting the China Green Computing Power Conference and the International Dairy Innovation Conference. Hohhot also unveiled breakthroughs, such as the dairy industry's "comfortable water-insulating microenvironment" for probiotics, and launched the 5-billion-yuan ($685 million) Jiuzhou Intelligent Computing Center.
Hohhot's industrial output grew significantly from January to October, with fixed asset investments rising 17 percent year over year, outpacing national averages. The city's strategic industries – dairy, bio-pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence – have driven this growth. Highlights include state-of-the-art dairy processing facilities and China's leading computing capacity cluster, which utilizes green energy for sustainable development.
The city also leads in bio-pharmaceuticals, generating 15.37 billion yuan in industrial value this year while pioneering innovations in renewable energy with integrated green power projects. Advancements in low-altitude industrial drone technologies and new materials also solidify Hohhot's reputation as a modern manufacturing hub.
Hohhot's proactive initiatives, including its role in China's "east data, west computing" strategy position the city at the forefront of regional economic development, supporting traditional and emerging industries to achieve high-quality, sustainable growth.
