The 2025 Fourth Hohhot Ice and Snow Festival concluded on Feb 23 at the Dahei River Military Culture Park. The 55-day festival, which began on Dec 31, attracted over 220,000 visitors from across China, with an average of 15,000 daily visitors during the Spring Festival holiday.
It featured many activities, including a performance by singer Fan Boyu on its opening day, which drew over 30,000 attendees. Traditional performances by actors from the Hohhot Cultural Tourism Investment Group's theaters and concerts by popular bands like Hanggai, HEER, and Zhunge'er were also major draws.
Other highlights included firework shows, an original immersive children's stage play, and ice and snow-themed performances.
Ice sports took center stage with the Inner Mongolia Dahei River Ice Dragon Boat National Invitational, where over 20 teams and nearly 300 participants raced on 30 centimeter-thick ice.
In addition to abundant activities, many foods, such as Laba porridge, tangyuan (sweet rice balls with fillings), and sugar-coated haws, left lasting memories for visitors.
