Yili tops CASS dairy industry index for eighth consecutive year

Yili was recognized as the leader in the dairy industry social responsibility development index by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)' Corporate Social Responsibility Blue Book (2025) at the ESG China · 8th Beijing Responsibility Exhibition on Nov 20. This marks the eighth consecutive year Yili has achieved this accolade.

Yili first introduced its "Green Leadership" initiative in 2007, which was updated into the "Green Industrial Chain Strategy" in 2009, promoting an integrated concept of "green production, green consumption and green development". In 2022, Yili announced the first dual carbon target and roadmap in China's food industry, achieving carbon peak in 2012 and committing to carbon neutrality across its entire industrial chain by 2050. 

Yili has pioneered the "carbon footprint + water footprint" dual-footprint full-chain carbon reduction model. To date, 43 Yili factories have been recognized as national green factories, and 34 have been certified as "Water-Saving Enterprises". Yili has also developed six zero-carbon products and several carbon-reduced products.

In 2016, Yili became the first Chinese company to sign the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity's Business and Biodiversity Pledge. In 2024, Yili's zero-carbon organic milk powder was showcased at the UNCCD COP16, where Yili shared insights on sustainable development in the dairy industry. In November 2025, Yili was invited to the UNFCCC COP30. From Dubai's COP28 to Baku's COP29 and now Belem's COP30, Yili has contributed Chinese expertise to global climate governance.

Yili has launched six major public welfare projects, including Yili Nutrition 2030. In May 2025, in partnership with Tencent and other organizations, Yili established the Sustainable Social Value Ecosystem to promote public welfare activities.

At the ESG China · Innovation Annual Conference and the inaugural ESG International Expo, Yili ranked first in the "China Top 100 ESG Pioneer Listed Companies" for the third consecutive year and topped the inaugural "Top 50 Supply Chain ESG Pioneer" in 2025. Yili was also featured in the China Association for Public Companies' "2025 Best Practices in Sustainable Development" and received the highest "Five-Star" rating from CASS for six consecutive years. In MSCI's latest ESG rating, Yili achieved an AA rating for the fourth year, the highest for a Chinese dairy company, placing it among global leaders.

Yili will continue to enhance ESG governance, focusing on the low-carbon transition, sustainable supply chains, and public welfare, creating and sharing value with global partners.
