Xiamen nominated as 'Famous Exhibition City'
Xiamen, Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Haikou were awarded “Famous Exhibition City” at the 10th China International Convention and Exhibition Cultural Festival held in in Haikou, Hainan Province.
The Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center was awarded “Outstanding Chinese Venue for Exhibition”.
Sponsored by the China Conference & Exhibition and Chinese Exhibition Economy Research Council, the China International Convention and Exhibition Cultural Festival has been held ten times. The topic for this year's festival is building on the success [of the festival] and promoting innovation.
The conference and exhibition industry in Xiamen has developed rapidly, with several large-scale exhibitions in the world, such as the investment symposiums, stone material shows and so on.

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
