Xiamen invests RMB3.4b on 27 green projects in first 8 months of 2014

According to the Xiamen Development and Reform Commission, Xiamen launched 27 green projects in the areas of ecological construction, environmental protection, and energy efficiency among the 238 municipal key projects in 2014.

From January to August 2014, the 27 green projects realized a total investment of RMB 3.4 billion, up 152% compared with the same period of the previous year, representing a 78% completion of the yearly plan.

4 ecological construction projects had over-fulfilled investment targets in the first 8 months of 2014. The dredging and rectification project of Xiamen's sea area saw an investment of RMB 1.3 billion this year, with the accumulative investment reaching RMB 5.9 billion. 3 environmental protection projects made rapid progress from Jan to Aug. In the energy efficiency area, the Xiamen Pengcuo Convertor Station, with a total investment of RMB 2.6 billion, began construction this year. The land pre-examination of the Xiamen Pumped Storage Station, with a total investment of RMB 8.2 billion, has passed the Ministry of Land and Resources minister's research and testing.
