Xiamen, Germany to cooperate on intl boat show
Goerx-Ulf Jungmichel, project director of the Düsseldorf International Boat Show (BOOT Düsseldorf) from the German Messe Düsseldorf Company, came to talk with Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce about the schedule of a 10-year framework plan for BOOT-CHINA on Sept 18.
BOOT Düsseldorf, covering 21 hectares, has been held in Düsseldorf, Germany every January since 1969. It is the biggest international professional water sports exhibition.
Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Messe Düsseldorf GmbH in January, 2014, planning to set up a boat show in Xiamen in 2016 after a one-year market exploration and survey. They have plans to build the biggest yacht and water sports exhibition in Asia.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
