Firms encouraged to build intl marketing network
Xiamen is encouraging enterprises to build up an international marketing network by offering direct subsidies. Enterprises which invest more than $500,000 overseas will get a corresponding subsidy of 0.02 yuan per dollar.
By the end of September, enterprises in Xiamen had built 21 international marketing networks overseas with an annual turnover of more than $500 million. Their major businesses cover electronic products, automobiles and auto parts, food, and aquatic products, and include 4 wholesale markets and 17 retail outlets.

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
