Xiamen University ranks among world's top 500 universities: USNews
A total of 27 Chinese universities were ranked among the world's 500 best universities in a ranking released by USNEWS on 29th October.
Xiamen University was ranked at 360th on the list, according to reports.
A total of 50 US universities made the list, with the ranking putting Harvard University on the top of the list, followed by MIT.
Peking University and Tsinghua University were the 2 Chinese universities with the highest ranking at 39th and 67th, respectively, on the top 500 list.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
