Fujian promotes 16-million-yuan leisure tourism project

The Financial Department of Fujian province has earmarked 16 million yuan ($2.6 million) to support development of leisure tourism across the province.

The fund will be used for building tourism complexes with functions such as shopping, catering and entertainment, in important scenic resorts and some pilot counties.

In addition, the money will be spent on building camping destinations for driving tourists, with a full set of services including accommodation, catering, shopping, medical services and vehicle maintenance.

The Finance Department will cooperate with the Fujian Tourism Bureau to assess these camping destinations and jointly cultivate cross-Straits tourism programs fit for scenic spots.
