Xiamen listed 25th among China's best commercial cities: Forbes China

Forbes China recently published the rankings of the "2014 Best Commercial Mainland Cities" and "2014 Most Developed Mainland Tourism Cities", and Xiamen was ranked 25th and 18th on the lists, respectively.

According to the list, the top 3 best commercial mainland cities in 2014 were Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. There were 5 cities from Fujian listed on the top 100 best commercial cities, including Fuzhou, ranked 21st on the list, up 4 positions year on year, Xiamen, ranked 25th on the list, up 3 positions year on year, Quanzhou, ranked 27th on the list, down 4 positions compared with last year, Zhangzhou and Jinjiang, ranked 88th and 96th on the list, respectively.

Since 2004, Forbes has ranked cities by 8 evaluation indexes including human resources, urban scale, consumption ability, passenger traffic, freight transport, operating costs, vitality of private economy, and innovation to analyze their commercial environments and development potential.

Based on analyzing the annual visitor amounts of domestic tourism and inbound tourism, domestic tourism profit, tourism foreign exchange profit, as well as the number of hotels and scenic spots in the city, Forbes China has listed the top 100 most developed cities in mainland annually for 4 years.

Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing were listed as the top 3 most developed mainland tourist cities in 2014. As the only city listed on the ranking, Xiamen snagged 18th on the list, up 1 position year on year. Besides, Xiamen’s annual visitor amount of inbound tourism, tourism foreign exchange profit, annual domestic visitor amount, domestic tourism profit, number of hotels and number of scenic spots ranked 11th, 8th, 52nd, 30th, 39th, and 36th, respectively, among the 100 cities.
