With the development of the three free trade zones (FTZ) in Xiamen, Fuzhou and Pingtan which are expected to be established in March this year, Xiangyu Bonded Area – an important part of Xiamen FTZ – will draw on the advantages to prioritize cross-Straits cooperation and development.

“We will accelerate the development of the Anport Cold Chain Center, which is the only transfer pilot unit located in the Chinese mainland for dealing with cold chain business on both sides,”said Lin Shuxi, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of the Xiangyu Bonded Area. The cold-chain logistics industry plays a significant role in cross-Straits business development and cooperation, he added.

He further explained that the optimization of a convenient channel and the integration of cold chain logistics across the Straits will be strengthened so as to improve the overall competitiveness of cold chain logistics in Fujian province.

The Bonded Area will expand the range of its financial leasing business and make full use of its geographical advantages to build a cross-border trade e-commerce base.

According to local officials, a logistics support system with a comprehensive set of equipment favoring cross-border electricity industry chain development will be established at the base.

Meanwhile, the Pan-Asia commodity trading center, the first bulk commodity trading center, will be formally established in March this year. Upon its completion, it will provide a multi-level and diversified platform for the trading of international commodities on both sides.

With a profound cultural background, Xiamen has long attached great importance to the development of its cultural industry. The bonded area is accelerating its step to create a “cultural bonded area” in Xiamen, which aims to provide a multifunctional platform for art and financial trade across the Straits, involving businesses ranging from art displays and appraisal to trading, collecting, exhibitions and warehouse logistics.
