The number of conventions in January increased by 137.8 percent, and those in February increased by 16.96 percent, over the figures a year earlier.

So far, 34 management companies and 35 convention hotels joined the Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Association, respectively increasing by 30 and 50 percent.

More companies are entering the convention and exhibition business. The numbers of attendees, conventions and exhibitions are expected to increase substantially.

Due to the Belt and Road Initiative and the establishment of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the new policies will play a greater role in encouraging the convention and exhibition industry.
