Technology to light up Xiamen STF

The 11th Strait Travel Fair (STF) will be held in Xiamen in east China’s Fujian province from May 8 to 10. The fair will showcase new international vibes and trends in the tourism industry.

According to the Fujian provincial Tourism Bureau, the “Internet+” Pavilion will be set up for the first time this year to demonstrate cutting-edge technologies related to things such as cloud calculation and Internet of things (IoT).

The STF is also setting out to build a B2B E-commerce cooperation platform and a B2C tourism production sales platform for companies who wish to reap the benefits of the budding trend. So far, there are over 50 enterprises from home and broad on the “smart exhibitor” list in various aspects of the industry.

Zhu Huachu, director general of the Fujian provincial Tourism Bureau, announced that the authority will provide matchmaking services for Online Travel Agents (OTAs) and some 3000 tourism attractions, hotels, travel agents, family stays and countryside tourism pilot areas.
