Okinawa to play more active role in 2015 CIFIT

A delegation of six from Okinawa prefecture, Japan visited Xiamen city, in Fujian province on July 3.

Qiu Guoyue, deputy director of Xiamen Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs, explained the latest development and the highlights of 2015 China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) which will fall on Sept 9 in Xiamen.

Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation has joined the CIFIT since 2012, and gained many achievements in tourism and industrial promotions, according to Yabiku, director of Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation.

Yabiku said Okinawa would organize enterprises in electronic, software and e-commerce industries and inspect Xiamen section of Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

Okinawa also planned to promote the newly opened non-stop flight route, which links Changle Airport in Fujian’s capital Fuzhou city and Okinawa Naha Airport to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.

Okinawa prefecture is the southernmost prefecture of Japan and experiences temperatures above 20 Celsius degree for most of the year. It is a major producer of sugar cane, pineapple, papaya, and other tropical fruit in Japan.
