Trade with South Korea on rise
Bilateral trade between Xiamen and South Korea has been on the rise in the first half of 2015. Sentiment among business circles from Xiamen regarding the signing of a free trade pact between China and South Korea on June 1 has been largely optimistic.
Xiamen's monthly imports and exports with South Korea amounted to a combined monetary worth of $395 million in June, 21.2 percent more than the same period last year.
Xiamen's exports to South Korea in June totaled $206 million, a 41.4 percent increase from the same period last year.
In the first half of 2015, the total worth of imports and exports between Xiamen and South Korea was $2.18 billion, a 20.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
During the first six months of 2015, Xiamen's exports to South Korea rose 38.8 percent to $1.29 billion, compared to last year.
