A forum on innovation in environmental protection and control in China's industrial sector is going to be held on Sept 9 at Xiamen, Fujian province.

The event, co-organized by the organizing committee of China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) and the Fujian Microwater Environmental Protection Technology Co, aims at achieving a win-win situation for the industries and environment. This happens to be in line with the national strategy of "building a beautiful China".

The forum, covering technology exchanges, research on business models, resource and capital connection, is China's largest and most influential platform for the environmental protection industry in industrial areas.

Some environmental protection experts and representatives from industrial areas along with environmental protection companies will participate in the forum. They will discuss the reform and innovation of China's environmental management system.

Microwater, focusing on disposing industrial effluent and hazardous heavy metal waste, has proposed a new environmental control model, which is that the government can take over and upgrade the environmental protection facilities in industrial areas by raising private and social capital and then puts them back into use.

Meanwhile, China's first fund for pollution control in industrial areas will be set up at the forum, based on Microwater's cooperation with Fujian Investment & Development Group and a private equity firm in Xiamen. This fund will contribute to the structural transformation of China's economy and its industrial upgrading.
