Urumqi promotes itself in Xiamen
Urumqi presented 24 projects at the China International Fair for Investment and Trade in the hope of securing investment.
The fair was held in Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 8 to 11 and featured a number of meetings regarding the development of the Silk Road Initiative, international investment forums and high-end exhibitions.
The projects presented by Urumqi were in the fields of industries, services and infrastructure. A promotion meeting under the theme of “Silk Road Connection, Development Promotion” was also held to attract more investment to Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Approximately 100 enterprise representatives attended the meeting.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
