Ninety contracts worth 41.49 billion yuan ($6.54 billion) were signed at the eighth Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair, xmnn.cn reported on Nov 3.

The fair, which concluded on Nov 2 at the International Exhibition Center in Xiamen, Fujian province, attracted 1,696 companies and organizations worldwide, including 737 from Taiwan. The four-day event also attracted 350,000 visitors.

The fair highlighted Taiwan's cultural creations, including calligraphy, sculptures and ceramics, which helped boost cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

Another exhibition showed Taiwan's children culture, improving communications between the two sides.

Although the fair closed, cross-Straits cooperation did not end. Some exhibitors from Qinghai, Hainan and Henan booked booths for next year's fair, and exhibitors from Taiwan planned to expand their exhibition areas.
