The liaison office is located at the Mumbai branch of Yaoming Zhidai.

This is the first time the Xiamen government has set up such an organization. Its purpose is to bridge the business circles of Xiamen and India through collaboration with local trade promotion organizations. India's resources in mining, agriculture, fisheries and manufacturing will be introduced to Xiamen businesses.

The liaison office will also conduct market research and update local business news.

In recent years, India, as an emerging economy, has become a hotspot for international investment. Many Xiamen-based enterprises have been reviewing India as an investment destination.
