Jiangxi province's commerce bureau has announced that Jiangxi will hold the special Guest Province of Honor title at this year's China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), in the city of Xiamen, Fujian province in September, meaning it will play a great role at the fair.

This year marks the start of China's 13th Five-Year Plan, during which time there will be many economic reforms and Jiangxi is poised to be a major part of the national development strategy since it sits in the middle of one of China's most dynamic regions, from the Yangtze River Delta to the Pearl River Delta and Fujian province. It is also a transportation center for China, which gives it development privileges.

So, Jiangxi sees the Xiamen trade fair as a very important event, in view of its ambitious campaign to promote its manufacturing, metallurgy, bio-pharmaceutical, IT, food, fine chemistry, and new materials industries. The fair organizers say they will be highlighting connectivity via China's Belt and Road Initiative among all the themed activities arranged with all the resources available.

Jiangxi will have a large 1,500-square-meter area in the fair's exhibition site and will provide investment advice, preferential policies, infrastructure, and business matching and networking events to entice business people. It is the sixth of China's 32 provincial-level regions to get the Guest Province title, following Henan, Qinghai, Hebei, Hainan, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Shaanxi. The fair first used this promotional approach in 2010.
