A total of 24 trade promotion agencies from northeastern cities sent 50 representatives to a promotional event held by the China International Fair for Investment & Trade in the city of Dalian, Liaoning province, on Dec 10.

CIFIT's three member provinces, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang, plus one member city Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang also joined the event.

The organizers introduced the Star City and Best City for Investment programs, detailing application terms and benefits.

Participants recognized the achievements made by the trade fair and said that CIFIT has become a stage for northeastern China to show off its economic potential in recent years. Also they pledged to bring more competitive businesses and projects to the broader world at the coming sessions of the fair.

Jilin province's capital city Changchun was given the privileged title of Star City for the 2016 session of the fair. A 300 square meter exhibition area is planned to show off the city's business environment and top-priority projects.

Yingkou city in Liaoning province expressed its interest in earning a Best City for Investment title at the coming fair in 2016 and the Star City title for the 2017 session.

Li Liuquan, a high-ranking officer from the fair's organizing committee, shared experiences on arrangement for exhibitions and business promotion activities. Participating trade promotion personnel from various cities exchanged working experiences, explored problems encountered, and offered pragmatic suggestions for local government officers working in the field.
