Taipei Chamber of Commerce visits Xiamen for exposition talks

The Xiamen Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs welcomed the first business delegation of the year from Taiwan on Jan 4.

Chen Silang, general-sectetary of the Taipei Chamber of Commerce, led the three-men delegation to discuss cooperation on the Xiamen Internaitonal Industry Exposition.

During the meeting, the bureau's director, Wang Qiongwen, summarized the development of the convention and exhibition sector in Xiamen and shared the design of the 2016 industry expo. Wang also expressed hope on deepened exchange and cooperation between Xiamen and Taipei.

Chen said that Xiamen and Taiwan have a close relationship, as do the Xiamen Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs and the commerce chamber of Taipei. He added that the convention and exhibition industry is expanding in Xiamen and has seen continued improvement in management. The Taipei chamber hopes to deepen cooperation with the bureau to promote cross-Straits economic exchanges, according to Chen.

Jiang Meiyue, the bureau's Party secretary, and heads of the exhibition management unit and liaison office for Taiwan affairs were also present at the meeting.
