The Xiamen government held talks with a delegation from Air China to cooperate at this year's China International Fair for Investment & Trade. The colossal trade promotion event is held annually in Xiamen and falls under the remit of the local government and Commerce Ministry of China.

At the Feb 22 meeting, Xiamen's deputy mayor Ni Chao expressed appreciation for Air China's role and support as a strategic partner of the fair for the last six sessions. Shee introduced the progress made in the city's tourism and convention and exhibition industries, and expressed a desire to integrate resources between Xiamen and the airliner to achieve further results.

Air China vice president Wang Mingyuan commended what he called win-win results achieved in recent years through collaboration between the airliner and the fair's organizer – the Xiamen bureau of convention and exhibition affairs. The bureau's director, Wang Qiongwen, also attended the meeting.

Through collaboration with the bureau, Air China has gained a firm footing in the Xiamen market and has advertised itself to attendees of the fair from across the world. This is in line with the national airliner's ambition of exploring the global market.

The airliner plans to map out more international routes to facilitate economic and cultural exchanges among Belt and Road nations. Information collected through the services it provides to the fair's attendees will help the airliner develop better products and services suitable to international clients.

Motivated by the convention and exhibition industry's boost to airline businesses, Air China is interested in more thorough, extended cooperation with the city and the fair's organizer. This will include special products designed for the fair, pre-event publicity and long-term branding strategies.

Air China is the sole airliner partner to the fair and cooperation began in 2010. Air China's engagement in providing quality air services to the fair's attendees has gained recognition from high-end overseas markets and strengthened loyalty among existing clients.
