Xiamen attracts record number of foreign investment in H1

A total of 575 foreign companies made investments in Xiamen during the first half of year, up 180 percent from the same period last year.

Foreign investment from signed contracts reached $4.58 billion during the period, up 150 percent from last year.

Actual foreign investment reached $1.43 billion, accounting for 64.6 percent of Xiamen's annual target.

Xiamen secured the most contracted and actual foreign investment in Fujian province during the first six months of 2016.

Contracted foreign investment in Xiamen took up 56 percent of the total contracted foreign investment in the province for this period, while actual foreign investment in Xiamen accounted for 29.2 percent of the total in the province.

The service sector attracted 69 percent of actual foreign investment in Xiamen during the period.
