E-commerce giant Alibaba promoted its innovative OneTouch platform at the group's second cross-border e-commerce ecosystem summit, held in Xiamen on Aug 10.

OneTouch is short for Shenzhen OneTouch Business Service, which is a subsidiary of Alibaba Group that provides import and export BPO (business process outsourcing) services to small and medium-sized cross-border trade enterprises.

The online platform's services cover customs clearance, logistics and financing. By consolidating scattered service resources the platform enables lower costs and more efficiency.

The Xiamen commerce bureau signed an agreement at the summit with Alibaba to introduce the services of OneTouch platform to benefit the small and medium-sized companies in local area.

The Xiamen commerce bureau also introduced the efforts the city made to promote international trade, including the launch of the cargo train linking Xiamen, Chengdu and Eastern Europe and the Single Window service available inside the Xiamen free trade zone.

Launched in Aug 2015, the express rail route runs a total length of some 10,000 kilometers that extends from Xiamen, via Chengdu, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, and reaches Lodz in Poland as the final destination. The transportation time is between 18 and 20 days, in comparison to the 40 to 45 days it takes by sea routes.

The Single Window service system is targeted to provide one-stop services for international transactions. It helps to facilitate innovative trade forms, cross-border e-commerce and other modern business practices.
