Over 200 China-Europe trains departed Xiamen

A total of 201 trains have left Xiamen, Fujian province for Europe and Asia from August 2015, according to the statistics released by Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

These trains have carried cargoes worth 3.4 billion yuan ($507 million) over the past three years, greatly promoting the coastal city's commercial relationship with countries in Europe and Asia and the trains how now become an important channel for Xiamen to cooperate with the Belt and Road countries and regions.

According to the statistics, a total of 138 trains carrying cargoes worth 2.7 billion yuan left Xiamen for Europe while four trains arrived in China from European countries; 57 trains with cargoes worth 664 million yuan left Xiamen for Asia and two trains departed from Asian countries to the city.

Wider variety of cargoes have been exported from the city, covering all the competitive products in Xiamen and its surrounding cities, from mechanical and electrical equipment, clothes, daily supplies and food to sports equipment, fitness equipment, computer accessories, and textiles.

Director of the bureau said that they will continue to improve customs clearance efficiency and integrate resources from surrounding areas to make the trade and investment in Xiamen more convenient.
