Over 900,000 tourists visited Xiamen during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, generating 763 million yuan in revenue, official statistics show.

The city in East China's Fujian province is one of the hottest tourism destinations in the country. In 2017, Visitor arrivals in Xiamen totaled 78.3 million, with its tourism revenue rising to 116.85 billion yuan ($18.56 billion), up 20.68 percent year-on-year.

During the three-day holiday break this year, various activities such as harvesting crops and the dice game-Bo Bing- were enjoyed by local residents and visitors alike.

Bo Bing, which literally means gambling for cakes, is a dice game traditionally played as part of the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Xiamen. In recent times, daily necessities, household appliances and money have been sometimes given as prizes instead of the traditional mooncakes.
