The trade surplus in the city expanded 55.1 percent to 38.92 billion yuan during the same period.

Notably, Xiamen's import and export value accounted for 46.5 percent of Fujian's total foreign trade, exceeding the combined foreign trade volume of Fuzhou and Quanzhou, two other well-performing cities in Fujian.

In addition, three other Fujian cities were also included on the list, namely, Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Longyan.
