The coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province unveiled a notice urging governments at all levels to fully implement the negative list for market access (2020 version) in an effort to further stimulate the market, local news reported on April 12.

Since the first version of the negative list for market access was unveiled in 2018, Xiamen has established a complete management model for market access, which has greatly increased the vitality of enterprises. Official data show that by the end of 2020, the number of market entities had increased by 718,181, expanding by 8.23 percent year-on-year.

"Xiamen will fully implement the new negative list for market access, and further lift restrictive measures," according to an official of the Xiamen Development and Reform Commission.

Local authorities said that Xiamen will continue to advocate for the adoption of the new negative list, promoting fair competition and improving the management system for pre-established national treatment and negative list for foreign investment. It will also further open up the service industry in an orderly manner, with a focus on fields such as healthcare, education, sports, and environmental protection.
