Xiamen in East China's Fujian province organized a promotional meeting for its MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) industry in Beijing on May 27.
More than 100 representatives from national business associations, overseas exhibition promotion agencies in China, international MICE companies, and organizers of large exhibition tours were invited to attend the event.

Chen Haoying, director of the Xiamen municipal bureau of convention and exhibition, discussed the development of the MICE industry in Xiamen, saying that the city is building itself into a MICE model for China.
Chen Xijin from the exhibition department of the Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce explained the preferential policies for the MICE industry in Xiamen and detailed the advantages of the city's MICE industry, including hardware facilities, business environment, smart exhibitions, and industrial exhibitions.

Xiamen is one of the most habitable cities in China and an international comprehensive transportation hub with shipping and air routes connecting to 175 cities in China and abroad.
The city has a total exhibition area of more than 510,000 square meters and 130,000 guestrooms.
It is creating a world-class business environment for local companies by implementing a number of favorable policies and listing the MICE industry as one of 12 industrial chains with an expected annual output of 100 billion yuan ($15.69 billion).
A big data platform for the MICE industry has been launched by the city, which gathers information about local exhibition halls, 135 starred hotels, and more than 200 exhibition service institutions. Relevant policies concerning the MICE industry in the city and consultation services can also be available on the platform.
Xiamen is also working to integrate industries and exhibitions and has cultivated high-quality professional exhibitions centering on the competitive industries of Xiamen and Fujian.
