Xiamen in Fujian province made fruitful investments at the 21st China International Fair for Investment and Trade, which concluded on Sept 11, according to the municipal bureau of commerce.

Xiamen signed 40 foreign-funded projects with a contractual foreign investment of $2.1 billion, as well as 15 projects signed with central-owned and private companies with an estimated investment of 55.1 billion yuan ($8.54 billion), all of which lead the province.

These projects are expected to be established within three years.

At the 21st CIFIT, a number of renowned companies have been attracted to invest in Xiamen, such as Huashi Group, Fosun, Tencent, Seif Group, and China Resources, covering industries like characteristic modern agriculture and food processing, electronic information, new energy, as well as biology and new medicine.

CIFIT has been playing a vital role in showcasing the opening-up and development of Xiamen. CIFIT participants from Xiamen organized investment promotion events before the 21st CIFIT, as well as match-making meetings and follow-up services during the 21st CIFIT, showcasing the city's good business environment and efficient business services to the world.

In addition, a series of events, including the 2021 Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum, the 20th World Business Leaders Roundtable, and the Seminar on Investment Opportunities in the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone, further promoted Xiamen's business environment and investment opportunities to the world.
