Xiamen's GDP up 10% in Q1-3

The regional gross domestic product of Xiamen, Fujian province reached 529.43 billion yuan ($82.68 billion) during the first three quarters of this year, up 10 percent year-on-year and representing an average growth rate of 6.5 percent over the past two years, according to the municipal bureau of statistics.

The proportion of its primary, secondary, and tertiary industries accounted for 0.4 percent, 38.5 percent, and 61.1 percent respectively in the city's total GDP in the first three quarters of this year.

The added value of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries were 2 billion yuan, 204.04 billion yuan, and 323.39 billion yuan respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 6 percent, 9.4 percent, and 10.5 percent.

The city kept abundant supply of agricultural produce in the first three quarters of the year, with that of poultry and aquatic products maintaining stability.

Sectors, including the wholesale, retail, and catering sectors, have maintained double-digit average growth over the past two years. Notably, the added value of the wholesale and retail sector rose 26.7 percent year-on-year, accounting for 46.3 percent of the tertiary industrial total.

The city's total retail sales of consumer goods in the first three quarters of this year were valued at 195.75 billion yuan, up 17.2 percent year-on-year.

In addition, the city's imports and exports totaled 657.02 billion yuan, up 29.5 percent year-on-year. Of that, imports accounted for 341.03 billion yuan, up 37.2 percent, while exports were valued at 315.99 billion yuan, up 22 percent.
