Xiamen releases measures to boost consumption during May Day holiday

As many people in Xiamen, Fujian province will stay put during the approaching May Day holiday, which is from April 30 to May 4, Xiamen released a notice on measures to promote consumption during the holiday.

The measures cover four aspects including catering, shopping, accommodation, and tourism.

Xiamen's catering enterprises above limited size, which issue food and beverage vouchers via various online platforms, will receive subsidies of 50 percent from their own concessions.

In terms of shopping, shopping malls, and supermarkets above limited size, and brand franchise convenience stores, which offer vouchers on various platforms, will be given subsidies of 50 percent of their own concessions.

Hotels and guesthouses above capacity (excluding quarantine hotels), will be provided subsidies at the rate of 100 yuan ($15.04) per room per night.

Discounts and benefits are also offered in the tourism sector in Xiamen as the city's A-level scenic spots will offer 50 percent discounts on tickets. For preferential activities, stay up to date with each scenic spot's announcements.
