Two projects from the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone national cultural export base were listed among the 29 key cultural export projects chosen by six departments including the Ministry of Commerce.

The two projects are the Sixth Chinese Publication Exhibition Tour in Southeast Asia, which was listed first among all the projects, and an "international book copyrights supermarket" project.

The Sixth Chinese Publication Exhibition Tour in Southeast Asia took place in Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, and Indonesia, both online and in offline venues. Over 60 Chinese and foreign press outlets attended the tour, which included activities such as book exhibitions and sales, book copyrights negotiations, and the promotion of intangible cultural heritages.

The "international book copyrights supermarket" project is a one-stop platform for international book copyrights trade, consisting of a website that integrates copyrights display, negotiation, and trading, as well as an offline overseas copyright display and communication center that offers services like international copyright management training.

The project's goal is to provide digital knowledge and professional expertise to international book copyrights traders, and allow important Chinese book copyrights to expand in other markets.

The Xiamen FTZ national cultural export base is an example of Xiamen's development in the trade in services industry.

In 2021, the import and export volume of Xiamen's trade in services reached 65.53 billion yuan ($9.84 billion), an increase of 38.3 percent compared to that in 2020, which was 22.2 percentage points higher than the national average growth rate.
