Xiamen in Fujian province launched measures to support the development of an alumni economy on June 30 to provide guarantees, services, support, and incentives for alumni to invest and start businesses in Xiamen.

According to the measures, to offer overall guarantees and services, a platform will be set up to offer one-stop services to alumni related to business attraction, and deal with the requirements for the establishment of projects and share business attraction resources.

A set of policies covering talent, science and technology, planning, land, residency, school enrollment, capital funding, and headquarters, will be provided for alumni to attract business and investment.

Xiamen will arrange various activities regarding investment attraction, industry research, and invite alumni to discuss the future development and encourage collaboration based on platforms and institutions at the municipal and district levels.

Alumni are encouraged to settle down in industrial parks in Xiamen, which will provide subsidies and governmental services to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Xiamen will assist industrial parks in forming relationships with higher education institutions based on their unique industry orientation and advantages.

There are various strategies for graduates to raise money for launching or expanding enterprises. For instance, Xiamen will bolster government direction to facilitate alumni fundraising methods.

According to a press conference held on the same day, Xiamen will launch a "Pillars of Xiamen" plan and an Economic Alliance of Alumni on July 2 to facilitate the city's industrial talent gathering and industrial cluster upgrading, as well as a matched summit about the development of Xiamen's alumni economy on July 1.
