CIFIT hosts promotional event in Guangzhou

The organizing committee of China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) hosted the 22nd CIFIT Promotion Symposium on July 20 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

Nearly 50 representatives from over 30 foreign consulate generals, investment promotion institutions and business chambers took part in the event.

Liu Dianxun, director-general of the China Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech which highlighted multinationals' confidence in the Chinese market.

According to Liu, foreign direct investment into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, expanded 17.3 percent year-on-year to 564.2 billion yuan ($83.39 billion) in the first five months of the year. 

Liu said that the ministry will mobilize all of its resources to strengthen CIFIT's role as an international investment platform to share China's development opportunities with the globe and promote win-win cooperation.

Zhuang Rongliang, vice-mayor of the host city Xiamen, gave an introduction of the 22nd CIFIT during the event.

According to Zhuang, the 22nd CIFIT will be held both online and offline in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Sept 8 to 11.

This year's fair will focus on the dual-carbon goals, the digital economy, the construction of the Belt and Road, BRICS cooperation and the high-quality implementation of the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) agreement.

More than 30 high-end forums and seminars will be held, while a 120,000-square-meter exhibition displaying the latest achievements in the industrial internet, new energy, smart cities, rural vitalization, and traditional Chinese characteristic products.
