The 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade – or CIFIT – will be held in Xiamen in East China's Fujian province from Sept 8 to 11. 

As a platform to promote reciprocal investment, CIFIT has developed into one of the most influential international investment events, attracting institutions from all over the world.

At the invitation of China's Ministry of Commerce, the Republic of Korea (ROK) will attend this year's CIFIT as guest country of honor.

Under the auspices of the ROK's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency or KOTRA, an ROK pavilion covering more than 420 square meters will be set up at CIFIT. In addition, a series of events such as investment environment briefings and one-on-one business matchmaking will be held.

Government representatives in China from the ROK's provinces of South Jeolla, North Jeolla, North Chungcheong and South Gyeongsang, its cities of Gwangju and Busan, as well as the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone – and representatives of a number of the ROK's institutions – are due to participate.

They will introduce their latest investment policies and competitive projects during presentations at this year's CIFIT.

The ROK enjoys a stable economy, ranks fifth in the world in industrial competitiveness and is a global leader in many industrial fields of endeavor.

It is expected that more bilateral commerce and trade between China and the ROK will be achieved through this year's CIFIT.
