Five projects totaling $10 million have been agreed upon by Xiamen exhibitors as of Sep 1 at the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which got under way in Beijing on Aug 31.

For instance, Mechanist Games, a company that specializes in exporting culture through gaming platforms, signed a contract at the CIFTIS with a Hong Kong-based game operation and promotion company.

The company has participated in the CIFTIS for many years, and this year it showcases some of its key products as well as a newly released game.

This year, Xiamen sent eight representative companies and organizations, including Mechanist Games, Huaqiao University, Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Meitu, to the CIFTIS. The city also set up a 100-square-meter booth at the offline location to highlight its successes in the trade of services, which range from aviation maintenance services to digital services.

In order to spread the opportunity, the Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce helped more than 30 businesses and institutions attend the event online.

The CIFTIS is not only a platform for Xiamen to showcase its achievements in trade in services, but also serves as a gateway for Xiamen companies and institutions that are involved in the sector to carry out project matchmakings, and attend various exhibitions, forums, and communications activities, said Chen Yuejin, deputy director of the bureau.

As a pilot city for innovative development in trade in services, Xiamen is currently home to a national culture export base, a national digital service export base, a national traditional Chinese medicine export base, and a national language service export base.
