Xiamen achieves fruitful results at 22nd CIFIT

The four-day 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) concluded with great success in Xiamen, Fujian province on Sept 11.

During the event, Xiamen signed agreements for a total of 337 projects worth 309.6 billion yuan ($44.63 billion), including 14 key projects at the provincial level, which amounted to 30.66 billion yuan. The key projects cover various sectors including electronic information, aviation maintenance, trade and logistics, financial services, biomedicine, new energy, and new materials, which are expected to help accelerate the city's industrial transformation.

Foreign investment is a vital force for Xiamen's economic development. During the 22nd CIFIT, Xiamen signed six foreign invested project agreements, with a planned investment of 11.7 billion yuan. The foreign invested projects cover sectors like flat panel displays, the digital economy, retail sales, industrial park operations, and finance.

Xiamen's exhibition area was integrated with a metaverse element, which enabled visitors to travel around 35 key industrial parks in Xiamen through technologies like artificial intelligence and virtual reality to learn about the parks' industry orientation, supportive policies, and contacts.

During the 22nd CIFIT, Xiamen organized 14 supplementary activities, including the 2022 Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum, the Dialogue on Digital Economy of BRICS, a sports fashion show, and a promotional event for the investment opportunities in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone, according to officials from the Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce.
