Xiamen aims to become national comprehensive freight hub

Xiamen was selected into the first batch of cities to pilot the implementation of reinforcing and strengthening the chain of the national comprehensive freight hubs in 2022.

The cities were announced by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transportation, with the first batch consisting of 15 cities.

It is intended to support around 30 cities in strengthening the chain of comprehensive freight hubs over the course of about three years beginning in 2022.

Recently, Xiamen has taken pride in the expansion of its supply chain. The Ministry of Commerce's Department of Circulation Industry Development recently revealed the list of 2022 national supply chain innovation and application demonstration enterprises, which featured five Xiamen enterprises.

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
