The economic and social development can be attributed to Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce's hard work over the past decade.

The municipal bureau of commerce released various policies to boost consumption over the past 10 years and improve the development of urban commercial complexes.

For example, in 2021, the city's catering industry achieved 26.754 billion yuan in operation revenue, surging 1.7 times compared to that in 2012.

Over the past decade, a large number of convenience stores have sprung up in Xiamen, which has resulted in the city topping the nation in terms of the city convenience store index for three consecutive years, and was included in the nation's first batch of pilot cities to build 15-minute convenient living circles.

The municipal bureau of commerce has been bolstering its efforts to develop the e-commerce sector in various aspects, such as vitalizing the online consumption market, improving consumption quality, and stimulating the economy.

Over the past 10 years, the bureau has also stepped up efforts to ensure the supply and safety of food for the public. For example, it set up an important product tracing system in 2016. To date, the system has had 325 million pieces of data uploaded, which cover 952,100 types of products operated by 164,200 business entities citywide.
