18th Cross-Straits Book Fair opens in Xiamen

The 18th Cross-Straits Book Fair kicked off in Xiamen on Dec 1 and will last until Dec 3. The exhibition brings together more than 100,000 books from 300 publishers from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, including new books and bestsellers.

The main venue of the exhibition is set up in Zone B of the Xiamen Fliport C&E Center, covering an area of about 9,500 square meters and is open to professionals working in the publishing organizations. The sub venues, including Xiamen International Bookstore, is open to the public and are expected to extend their dates of the event until Dec 11.

All of the books showcased are delicately selected and more than 242 public libraries and college libraries are invited to attend the exhibition. By providing such a great variety of books and giving libraries a chance to subscribe to related services, the exhibition is expected to fulfill the demand for knowledge in all age groups.

Since its establishment in Xiamen in 2005, the Cross-Straits Book Fair has been successfully held for 17 sessions, providing an important platform for cross-Straits book exhibitions and sales, trade copyrights, information exchanges and cooperation. Currently, the exhibition serves as the most influential one of its kind in China.
