From January to November this year, Xiamen held 101 exhibitions, which covered a total exhibition area of 1.27 million square meters. The number and coverage area of the exhibitions held in the city both broke historical records, ranking 3rd and 7th in the nation, respectively.

In 2022, Xiamen has continued to stress the integration of industries and exhibitions, and opened six new exhibitions, including a hotel supplies exhibition and a coffee exhibition.

The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce has also established a series of regulations to smooth out the process for holding exhibitions. From June to December, relief subsidies were given to professional economic and trade exhibitions whose coverage area was more than 10,000 square meters.

In the first half of this year, the exhibition industry was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 2, the West Taiwan Strait Auto Expo was held in Xiamen, which served as the first exhibition in China's exhibition industry this year, and made Xiamen one of the six cities to first restart exhibition activities.

Furthermore, exhibitions in 2022 were promoted in new ways. In August, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce cooperated with Ele.me, a food delivery platform, to present a free dinner activity with elements of Xiamen's culture, which attracted more than 2 million people.
