Xiamen's service outsourcing soars 29.2% in 2022

In 2022, Xiamen's firms signed service outsourcing contracts worth about 89.36 billion yuan ($13.14 billion), up 20.7 percent year-on-year, and the executed value hit 61.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.2 percent.

During the same period, the offshore service outsourcing contract value and the executed value reached 31.23 billion yuan and 22.32 billion yuan, respectively, up 16.6 percent and 22.2 percent year-on-year.

The offshore contract value of information technology outsourcing (ITO), business process outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) rose 10.5 percent, 28.8 percent and 6.5 percent, respectively, year-on-year. Among them, the service outsourcing value of research and development, transportation maintenance and internet marketing showed the fastest growth, increasing by 80.9 percent, 35.8 percent and 34.9 percent, respectively, year-on-year.

In terms of the international market, offshore executed service outsourcing with the United States, the European Union, and China's Hong Kong accounted for 72.5 percent of the total, boasting a year-on-year increase of 30.7 percent, 8.7 percent and 12.1 percent, respectively.

Private enterprises gathered 14.3 percent of the total executed service outsourcing value in 2022. Offshore service outsourcing undertaken by foreign-invested enterprises accounted for 39.2 percent of the total, a year-on-year increase of 22.5 percent.

Furthermore, in 2022, Xiamen's service outsourcing industry recruited a total of 238,000 employees, among which 142,000 have a college degree or above, accounting for 58.8 percent of the total.
